ADVICE PLEASE-- 2 Inch Extensions for Foot Controls

I have been riding my Mastiff for a couple of months and enjoy the shit out of it (when it is running smoothly).

On some of my rides I have been able to cruise at above highway speeds and that is where I most enjoy being. My foot controls are stock. I am 5'9". I would enjoy spreading my legs a little further forward for comfort. Are there any functional or performance degradations associated with putting extensions on the foot controls? Ultimately I want to put on an Drag Bar as well and the looks will be where I want.

I don't want to suffer any manueverability. Will extensions hurt cornering? My feet are catching wind at high speads and (as you guys all know) it can be challenging to keep them pinned down.

Any advice or suggestions would be great. I did a search and see that some of you taller guys have done the 6 inch extensions and all seem to like them.

You shouldn't have any maneuverability issues, we put them on all the time. The only thing I've heard from my customers is that they feel the vibration a little bit more than they used to...

not enough time 4 riding
I have the Big Dog forward extensions on my 2006 Mastiff and I did not notice any change in handling, in facy I think it handles better since I am more comfortable. I am 5' 10" .

just put on the 3" extensions on my 08 pitbull. at 6'3" i felt like it made a huge difference.........in comfort that is. didn't notice much in handling.
is was able to stretch out the brake line so everything but the extensions remained stock. the extensions had a kit that including an extension for the shift linkage too.

at 5'9" the 3 extension should be more than enough for you. personally i think the 6" extension is overkill. like you said at high speeds you might feel like your ready to slide off the back of the bike. that and you'd be reaching for the foot controls when you take off.
