I just bought two containers of Mother's Billet Polish since the consensus vote says its the best. I'm going to polish my motor mount and my fins when it gets here on Wednesday. I got it on Ebay for $26 with free shipping.

I am currently searching the forums for the best way to polish the fins. I have a dremel but I need to buy a felt bob kit.
I use a paint stir stick with a microfibre wrapped around it to apply the billet polish, then cotton rag to wipe off, as told to do by dentdude.. I have tried a few attachments with my Dremmel but the felt gets wrapped up in the diamond cut. The fins are trial and error, find something thin but not sharp to wrap your microfibre or rag around, and be patient, it's fuckin tedious...

I'm gonna be putting mine on the lift for awhile , have a few things that need to be addressed with it.
Both mechanical and asthetics.

I used to try and polish the fins...I got a set of Pimp Stix to do that, it's a pain in the ass. I instead now just polish the top fins you can see (by spark plugs etc.) and then just do the edges of the fins the rest of the way down. Looks great as you can't really see the inner flat parts of the fins anyway with the shadow. I do run a micro over them with the Pimp Stix about once a year when I wash it really thoroughly.

It is an excellent idea thank you for sharing!

I realized dull aluminum on fins is on fashion! I just polish the edges...
Actually that's exactly what S&S is doing now. The engines are no longer polished inside the fins except for the head. They just have the natural finish now inside, with a polished outside.

Well at least that's how the new 124 are. Seen a couple all the same.

I bloody told you! I'm Fashion guru too
After 3700 miles and hit some rain and sandstorms there isn't an inch of my bike that resembles anything close to polished.

I bought some S100 I'm going to spray on and this is going to a hose treatment. There's sand everywhere and I can't just wipe it off it will scratch the hell out of everything.

I was thinking of that earlier... sandblasting your bike is not the most desired option

Did the sand pit or scratch the chrome?
Can't see real good, and phone screen is small.
No I don't think so...most of my bike is polished anyways. I was more worried about the paint on the gas tank getting chipped...im good there too!

Think I'll be alright. I was planning on wetsanding the rims anyways to get scratches out prior to this trip.

I bought two cans of this stuff...im eager to try it. I've actually never taken a hose to any of my bikes before. Usually I do it all by hand. Even though I get caught in the rain on both..so no real difference.
