Had two cars turn left in front of me yesterday.

Yesterday I took my Harley FXLR to work instead of the Big Dog Chopper. I glad I did. As I'm approaching an intersection, a driver figured they would turn left right in front of me. Now, this is a spot where I have the right away not them. I was at the spot where the first car is in the below photo. They were at the spot where the second car is, but looking to turn to my right towards the house.

I grab the brakes, and start a power slide heading right for them. The back end starts to come around to the left, and I left off the brakes, hit the gas to straighten it out, and I'm back on the brakes. At that point they felt the best thing for them to do was stop, right in the middle of the road, so I had a nice big car door to slam into. Realizing what they had just done, the jackass does the right thing, and hits the gas, and I slide right by them. One would think that would be enough, but the next driver figures it was a good time to go, and hits the gas, sticking his left front bumper/fender in my lane.

I yell at them as I swing the bike to a slide with the back end to the right, sliding right by them. As I go by, I yelled I'm gonna fucking get you. I get the bike under control, and swing into a parking lot and the chase was on.

The second guy, who I told I was coming after saw me turn around, and he pulled over. I pulled up to his window, screaming at him, and told him its HIS lucky day for pulling over, he wasn't gonna get pounded on and have to go to the hospital. I took off after the first JackAss who started the whole thing, and took off.

As I headed after them, the two cars in between us actually pulled over. I figured they saw the whole thing, and realized what I was doing. I caught the ass at the Lowes lights. I was banging on is window yelling at him to fucking look at me (bruised by hand). He finally looks over, cracks his window and says sorry, I didn't see you. I told him he was full of shit, and he almost killed me. I told him to get the fuck out of the car, when the light turned green, and he took off. At that point, I just pulled over to the side of the road, and checked the bike, and me. I'm lucky I raced dirt bikes as a child, and could slide a bike like that. If that had been my chopper, I'd be dead. The FXLR was easy to swing around, and power slide. I figured I needed a break today, and took the jeep to work.

It happens more than we would like to think. People just don't care while driving, cell phones, radios, and other mindless dribble is what drivers are concerned with. Count your blessings Bill, I'm glad you have the experience to compensate for those situations, I don't. Keep it on two wheels.

Just happened by me Saturday. Minivan turned left in front of a couple on a bagger. They hit head on, man and woman on the bagger died on the spot. Most of these people early on in the riding season are not looking for bikes on the road. I tell this to my wife and son constantly. Glad to hear you are ok brother.

If more bikers drug more cagers out of their cars and beat their fucking teeth in--more cagers would watch for bikers.

I had some little asian fuck in an Acura come over into my lane and squeeze me into a curb almost (left turn lane, he didn't even look). I honked, he threw his hand out the window. Everyone is tough in a cage or behind a keyboard. I put the kickstand down, walked up to said window and punched him in the face about 5 times while I held him by his shirt. I then pounded his head into his steering wheel and twisted it around to show him where to look next time. His girl sat there terrified. Walked back to bike and rode around him.

I promise now he checks his blind spot.

There are more close calls here than anywhere I've ridden, including Denver... More folks that can barely see, let alone drive, on the roads.
But... In Florida.. That response will get ya shot. In a New York second.

Oh don't worry, I've always got mine too. After he flipped me off, then got mouthy and said 'what the fuck you gonna do faggot?' I decided it was lesson time. I'm surprised he kept his mouth running given I'm 6'2" in boots and 230lbs. Obviously he'd never been handed a lesson before.

People ask why I don't ride to work. There are multiple reasons, but considering I'm only 10 miles from work and have to take the two busiest highways in Dallas there just is no reason. 10 miles of riding is not really riding and to do in traffic is a waste.

I'll sit in the truck with the windows down and the radio on and watch everyone get into fender bender around me.

I'm with you. I probably honk at someone daily to/from the office. A lot of the time it's some stupid woman putting on makeup while they're driving! People on their phone are another story. When you ride a bike it makes you a much better driver (I'm convinced) and it's amazing how unaware nearly everyone is. When I do go for a ride I get out of town as quickly as possible. Riding through town is a Gladiator level experience anymore.

Yes it's atrocious...3-4 lane highway and bumper to bumper.

Not to mention my air cooled bike would not like that too much.

I'm in Lowry...it's a joke getting across town or getting anywhere anymore. I'm going to move to Golden/West Arvada and get a few acres and move my firm as well. Denver is NUTS anymore.
I was just south of 6th Ave... On Green Mtn.
Offices were in Aurora and Highlands Rch... The work was on mountaintops from Montana to Arizons.
Lots of driving...lol

Its the same than here - First time of bike season ( march/ April and earning time in Juli/ August takes the most biker lives.
Silhouette is small - estmation of velocity is wrong and in the most cases don´t calculate with mororcycle.
In the most cases the biker has no fault - but he pays the higher price - with his mobility or his live.
We all know that a lot of shit could happen in a biker Life - but the feeling on a ride compensates the risk.
Maybe in ten or thirty years no more have autonome driving - but shit will happen also.
Change so error of people to error of machine and loose feeling.
But till this will happen, so I think, I will watch the radish from the downside and our grandsons will not believe that grandpa and grandmom had a lot of fun with drive gas stinking burn engines between two wheels.
Heaven or hell - some friends who was gone before , will give company to me.
But till this maybe happens - we all will have lots of fun with our dogs a long time.
So I hope - and wish everybody good Hands to come good out of shitty situations.
