Finally finished the project that's been in the works for a long time. I know some of you have seen some of the progress but for those who havent, it started with an idea last year, collected parts over the winter and started working on it in early spring. I wanted storage and was thinking about selling the chopper for something with bags, but when it came down to it, I just couldn't get rid of the chopper. So I came up with the off the wall idea of adding bags to my bike, i knew most would think im nuts but i play way outside of the box. Everything is either hand made or highly modified and I made it so with 3 bolts on each side and 2 factory style electrical plugs, I can pull off the whole back clip and go back to the original chopper fender in about 20 mins. After it was all fabricated and mocked up, I painted it to match the rest of the bike I did a couple years ago, and finally got it all together this weekend. Love it or hate it, shes definitely one of a kind, and i still have my Big Dog. I knew I wouldn't love it when I came up with the idea just didn't want to hate it. And now that it's done, I like it alot more than I thought I would.

In the Potters hand...
That's very well done Butch and only you need to like it. I think it's cool, what you did with a need and an idea, and lets you keep your dog.

Thanks, your exactly right, no one else needs to like it or ride it and way better then selling for something else. Plus it was a great, fun project! :old2:

Well u chose the perfect bike for it for sure, I think the k9 with it's size and the rear tire? Them bags would have had to been a lot bigger
Yeah she's got a big ass, can't imagine a 300mm
Nice job butch...

Now polishing that rear wheel is gonna be a BITCH

Thats why I just polished it right before I put the setup on. And I can pull the bags off the mounts in less than a minute to get to it. The whole setup takes 15-20 mins.

Thats also why I did away with the stock hd latch system and made my own, wanted to keep them tight to the fender srtuts. Used a rotary latch, a mini bike throttle cable and some home made brackets and spacers. Don't mind the inside of the bags, still need to dress them up.

Looks great, but, (the all popular but), how is it for cornering ? Really liking that paint job !!
Well... I had it all together before paint and took it for a ride and tried leaning as much as i ever do and didn't scrape. Now factor in road conditions and special circumstances and it may, and for that reason I just made up some skid plates today to mount under the bags, just in case.
