Picked up the parts from powder coating. Handlebars, oil tank and battery tray. Also received the pdm from Doug “thanks”
Considering either powder coating the triple trees black or having them chromed.

Bars look great...

In my opinion not that matters here and you didn't ask either but hey it's a free world...

Unless you are going to powder coat the new fork lowers black I would Chrome the trees chrome otherwise it might be too contrasting between the top and bottom

Thanks and I appreciate your opinion.
Was looking at something similar to the attached picture. I don’t want to do the exact same thing but similar.
Just found out that the controls don’t quite fit with the powdercoat in some areas so I will mark off the area where the controls cover and grind off some of powdercoat

That looks like a nice 04.. Black wheels help still think black fork sliders would look better.... You gonna do black wheels?

Ha..thats weird he didn't powdercoat the hub's black or the front side marker wire light cover under the lower tree...sometimes it's the little things that throw off the build a bit. Not gonna mention the half and half controls...hmm

Yes, the wheels will be the last thing to get done.
I have been looking at a bunch of aftermarket wheels. They are $$$

So today I had to break out my dremel to sand off some of the powdercoat.
The handlebars were too thick in some areas. So I did the control fitup and marked the areas to grind down.

Before I start the wiring I plan on spraying some sealant to protect the bars from rusting.

Mounted the headlight to see if I need to go to a smaller bucket.

So I decided that I will powdercoat the triple trees black to see if I like them. If I don’t I will send them out for chroming. Powdercoat is much cheaper that chroming.

Did ya ever see or look into PVD coating? I almost had some wheels done with that, they say its really durable and you can get it in a lot of different choices
