That's probably all I could do too. But that's just because I'm old, fat and lazy nowadays :) Seriously though, it's a start and after what your body has been through it's a damn good start. It will come back pretty quick now. Especially now that you are back on real food!!

Today was a great day!

Third day in the wheel chair was in it for almost 5 hours today! Went through therapy on the arms and legs then had a couple forum members show up!

Greg (Razorback) and MastiffDave! What a great two guys to visit me and drive all the way down here just to see me! This forum is great, and it's interesting how many of us all like the same stuff. It's not just the bikes we ride but for some reason we all care too. The 20,000 BigDogs made gotta have arguably some of the best owners out of any product existing. I'm honored to be a part of this and damn its had a hell of an impact on my life.

Greg, Dave and I must have laughed for the 2 hours they were here so it was a great day! Dave and I have some similar stories about the doctors and their bullshit talk and unfortunately what you learn about the medical industry having a serious issue. What I've learned is you don't want to do this again or know anybody that has to do it.

Dave's daughter made me some chocolate chip cookies that are probably some of the best I ever had so don't forget to tell her I said Thanks!

Kathy, they mentioned you wish you could have made it. I know our paths haven't crossed due to timing before but I'm sure I'll meet you someday!

Anyways just wanted to give my appreciation to those guys for coming to see me and my now skinny ass. I lost a lot weight! Gonna take me awhile to gain it back and my physical shape, but damnit I will and one of the big things I'm missing.

I just left you on Wednesday and you seem to have progressed that much in 2-days.
Outstanding
Yep. Everyday I get in the chair I feel better just moving my legs around just seems to be making my legs feel better too!

You were there I begged the surgeon to take this damn thing out of my pelvis. And I did succeed in getting it out 1 week early..i hope!!!!

I know I'll be better off waiting but now I'm in a wheelchair and sitting up I'm just getting my body primed for walking.

Hell I just moved myself from the chair to bed without even calling the nurse tonight.

I just went with my physical therapist. Wasn't much. 4lb weights were tiring kinda embarrassing for a guy that could bench 225 6 weeks ago!

Eric, when I was 16 I was diagnosed with Hystoplasmodis. Spent 3 weeks in PICU . I was 17yrs Old. Was desinthosised to pinacilin over 24 hrs this was to work on the infection. Had 1/2 my left lung. Lower lobe. Spent the next 3 weeks in icu. Then 2 more in the hospital. They cut through all my back muscles around to my left nipple. That’s why my back has a giant tattoo. Anyway I could not even operate my arm, could not raise my arm. My fingers would pull my arm around. Give it Time, don’t rush it. Workout all you can and push it all you can

Easy cowboy, don’t go messing up what you’ve waited all this time for. Doctors orders:rolleyes:

Crazy shit man. Glad that worked out for you especially considering how damn young you were at the time.

At this point I'm thinking i might be damn near 3 months between ICU and Rehab so not going home till middle to late February at the earliest and I might still have 1 or 2 surgeries depending on timing after I'm released.

So suffice it to say that lady sure did nail me

Challenging the doctors makes it more exciting! I need something to do and I want to make sure they know I'll push me so they can push me too. I ask for the minimum. I was told by my prior physician they expected this thing to be removed this week since everything was healed. I talked to my physical therapist today and he asked about it and said yea the doctor is just being overly cautious with his time frames of 10-12 weeks. I got him down to 9 so yea I agree medical Industry is overall too cautious sometimes.

I've gotten my medications reduced by challenging the physicians as well! I stopped taking a muscle relaxer and they had me on some sleeping pill still. And I've felt better because of it. So win-win.

Lot of people use tattoos to point a major part or major event in their lives. Think about it. Remember, you put it behind you ...you never forget it...it happened accept it, own it..put it in the rear view mirror!

I don't disagree at this point I really don't have any scars except on my face! I like woodbutchers idea about a reaper tat.

I was wearing riding sunglasses/googles and they actually pressed into my face and I fractured 6 bones around my eyes and both my eyelids were like curtains in two pieces I'm told. They sewed them both back together. I still don't have vision in my right eye and the eye lid is sagging a bit. My left eye everything is normal. I may need to get my eyelid sewed up again I'm not sure yet.

Other than my eye and my weight loss I'm actually in great shape considering. I only broke my pelvis and with the external fixator I just have two small holes in my waist. I have no road rash I don't think I ever hit the road I think I ended up on the ladies hood since I hit the front of her car and I think I slid up and over my handlebars.

It doesn't appear my bike ever fell over completely I think It stayed upright in her bumper cause I'm told there isn't any scratches on the rear fender, rim, primary or sissy bar. The exhaust which was the new Eddie trottas I just got they only are bent at the bottom similar to just taking a hard right which was probably me in an attempt to avoid the accident. Bars are bent right and gas tank has a dent on the right side too

As soon as I'm able to turn a wrench I'll get that bike back to its previous state. It will be good for me to work on it I don't plan on giving up riding because of someone's else's mistake but the time and work it takes to fix the bike should help me rebuild the trust I need to sit back in the saddle.

Eric, we so enjoyed our visit with you and I am very impressed with your healing at this point. I could kinda see myself when they were trying to get you out of the wheel chair and your reply was heck no , I need at least another hour sitting up. That wheel chair is the taste of freedom right now and we are very proud of you.

Have you finished all the cookies yet ? Brianna can send a care package anytime one is needed to help put some weight on you.

Yes, a friend broke his leg when he went down, had a tat on his leg insides with bolts and a zipper opening his skin. I need to get a pic but it was pretty neat.

Thanks Dave! I really appreciate y'all coming down to see me. It was really nice to get to see you and Greg! Hopefully I can head your way for BBBQ this year, I love going up to your place and it's certainly one of the best parties of the year and a great group of guys and gals end up making of mess of your farm..haha.

Haven't finished the cookies yet! But I'm working on it and man do they taste good! Let Brianna know they are some of the best damn chocolate chip cookies I've ever had so she's quite the baker!

I'll get out of this mess soon enough and as you know until it's over with its never quick enough! It sure is a hell of a learning experience you end up truly realizing what and who is important in life which is kinda of a blessing in disguise.
