My 03 pitbull brake lights quit working, I have turn and tail lights still, have a service manual and followed the trouble shooting and it states that the ehc is bad, dies anyone know if the BD4030-1B is still available or do I need to do the conversion to the thunder heart ASM4250 that night train posted

If you have the BD branded EHC then you will either have to find a used BD EHC or you will want to go with the Thunderheart conversion kit, made by WSW. It converts your BD EHC back to a Thrunderheart EHC which is what BD was using up until 2002.

I will sure vouch for the Thunderheart. 15 years and still running strong on my 2000 Vintage. I have replaced nearly every electrical component on my bike, many with spectacular failure (y'know, flames, pops, fizzles, and stranded in BFE) and the module just keeps on ticking.

Everything works great but my turn signals work but not the lights on the dash indicator

I have now had 2 BDM EHC modules go out. I purchased a Thunder Heart module and wiring kit (ASM 4250-D). I have a BDM Module diagram and I have printed conversion instructions from this thread. My question is ... Is WSW's wiring kit already set up for conversion or is it the same harness that came in my kit.

WSW's kit is made to convert accurately and without allot of issues.
It is not simply the harness that comes with TH's module when you buy their kit.
We also make the harness with a secondary relay for the starter to take the load off the module.
We don't claim to have the market cornered on this conversion.
We have simply taken the guess work out of it for those who are looking for the easiest way to convert and would like tech support available if they do run into issues.

I printed Night trains instructions for the conversion to a Thunder Heart Module. I'm down to the last step and it says to add new wires from pin 14 & 15 to the ignition switch. Is it talking about the keyed switch or the start push switch? Which wires can be tapped into to complete this?

I've wired WSW's TH kit on my 03' Pitbull and it was a nice simple install with great instructions and even better tech support. Curtis has taken the guess work out of the conversion and answered every email question I had.

Well..... I finished the conversion last night. All the light now work and the engine started and ran perfectly. !0 minutes later I went to start it again and all I hear is the starter solenoid click. I checked the wiring harnesses to the new module and checked voltages to the starter. I have 12.3V going to the starter and 6.5V going to the solenoid. Does anyone know what the solenoid voltage should be ? This is becoming typical for this bike.

Not sure what you are actually asking? There are plenty of electrical parts for these bikes (at least at the moment). Put your pennies in a jar for the day when you need something fixed. Face it these bikes are not mass produced HDs or Yamaha with R&D and Test depts. They where "custom" bikes. They will break and you will need to fix something. There are a lot of older dogs that folks did not take care of and you will spend a fortune fixin stuff. It is just the way it is. I like my 04 Chopper. I spent a lot of time and money fixing crap. It's fun as hell to ride. I have a Roadstar, its reliable but even that bitch left me on the side of the road. I have had to fix electrical issues on it as well. If its electrical or mechanical it will fail eventually.

Ok so if I wanted zero headaches I'd buy a second BMW r-series, no maintenance on that bike will even take up an entire afternoon much less a day and the only time it's down is when I catch a nail while riding the shoulder.
I think we're all here for the same reason and that's the driving experience. You get on a chopper and realize you have to have one.
With that said, I'm expecting to do some wrenching, I'm just trying to minimize the headaches and be on the road more than in the garage.

Well thanks to Electronik those with the 03 style BD EHC no longer have to fret.
WSW is releasing the Electronik 03 Plug N Play EHC replacement on Monday 05/07/2018.
If your start module is shot or you just want to get rid of it all together WSW will have an accessory harness available for that purpose.

I'm interested. Just got news that the ehc on my 03 Bulldog is bad.
