Before powder coating which can be a problem.....try angling it differently meaning move the whole setup up and down. If it's not perfect it never fits right. I've seen that gap before and it was control board was too far up and needed to be angled down, which then brings the clutch lever up higher

I have tried that, I have some ideas. I am thinking about getting some carbon paper or chalk and wrapping it around the bars putting the controls on to see where it’s making contact and grind that area down
    More to follow

Well I got, I used black touch up paint on the insides of the controls and mounted them to the bars. I removed them and used my dremel to remove any powdercoat that had black around it. It created a nice outline. It closed the gap, not completely but I am comfortable with it.

    Build update:
    Docs esc shipped today.
Motor is about two weeks out decided to rebuild both cylinders due to the parts already ordered. Probably only a few hundred miles on the motor but might as well do it a save on the labor.
Should have the wiring harnesses and drive train installed within the next month. And per Doug will post photos of the build.
Also just picked up this electronic torque wrench for Xmas [IMG]

Started installing docs esc today. Really impressed with his setup.
Engine should be back together this week. May have to slow down on the build due to no paycheck thanks to the government shutdown. Working for free this week... [IMG][IMG]

You don't like working for free? I'm sure it won't last long and you'll get the back pay anyways.

ESC is a very nice unit well put together and nicely heat shrunk everywhere.

Man this thing is so much easier than the wp install. I did manage to pull one of the jst pins out and will need to re chrimp a new pin. But the install is a breeze. Very impressed with the unit

There are days I love it and times I want to move on! Normally I do okay for $ but the politics and bullshit just don’t work with me.

Taking a shit ton of pics!
Thought about doing a how to video on the docs esc but it’s pretty damn easy to install.
    More pics coming
