Please educate me, what is the benefit of having 24 coils? Or is it again just a Big Dog trying to fuck us with genius design

The one machine I designed on has more than 2 billion (not a typo), cycles on it and still running, how kool is that:old2:[/QUOTE]
Is that the same tool ya used to remove the paint saver ? I believe old Og invented that several years back, while he was sitting out front of his cave, trying to come up with a device to clobber those pesky dinosaurs over the head with.!!

I am. I have a bunch of pics for the conversion I will post later.

I got a little disinterested with all the nonsense banter that was hijacking the post.

Here are the pics to convert to a “Harley Style” rotor and stator. Note you must use both matching rotor and stator because BDM is a 24 coil and Harley 12 coil.

First note the diameter difference. (BDM is smaller)

The inner primary has some bosses added for no good reason. (Hmmm)

I used an air grinder to remove the material. I covered everything I could with foil so it would not get shavings all over chain etc.

    Here is the result.

One final note. The BDM Rotor is thicker.

    Now Harley

Fortunately the Rotor came with a spacer that would compensate for the difference. Just be mindful of that if you convert.

I cannot get the Photo Bucket pics to work, but here is Jake's step by step on how to install the 40 Amp compufire stator system. I ordered the same kit and replaced mine years ago and it was easy to do.
