The only thing I would add to those instructions is that sometimes the 1/4" back off might be too much if your bike wants to creep when the clutch is pulled in, and if it does, you might want to lessen the 1/4" to 1/8" or 1/16"

Eric is talking about the clutch nut, the jamb nut is what you had your hands on this morning, two different things. What I posted is how to adjust your clutch, if I were you I would take Ker up on his offer to talk you through it.

So.. my nut as Eric was stating was loose, I'm gunna get with Donna and get the new updated hardened nut and washer update.. the adjustment with the rod being flush with the jam nut is what got me as to why I posted this, glad I didn't ride with it like this.. could a been a bad outcome when that nut finally came off.. a personal thanks to all of u who chimed and and an extra thanks to Ker for spending the time with me on the phone and getting to know him a bit better!! 20170305_111104.jpg

Yep been there with fingers for tight...kinda scary. That's why I said red loctite and 150 lbs earlier. If I buy another Big Dog I won't ride it until I take it off and retorque that nut specifically.

I was referring to what ever is that redish liquid around the nut.

Behind that clutch basket is a transmission seal while you got it apart already might want to take a peak at it. And you can check if any play in the transmission shaft.

Not sure if knowing Ker better is actually good for you, great you found the problem and did catch your nut before it fell off.

What year did easy pull come standard? I think you may have one already? I thought all the bikes have it from -06 or something??
