Yeah, I kinda feel bad but what can I say.
I have been getting brow beatin by quite a few people so I figured I better get it done and out of the way.
I meant to do it at the beginning of the year but just haven't had time.

    Remove your existing EHC
    Drill one new mounting hole
    Install the EHC
    Connect your Harnesses
    Test and Ride

My question is what makes this better than the Wire plus or the RIP

It's the only true plug n play besides the hole ya have to drill, and a few other small things but the plug n play is the biggest plus

While I didn't start this thread to be a discussion about which systems are the better or which is the best, I think there are plenty of those here already, I'll answer your question.
First, I think my instructions above clarified what makes it better. Simplicity!
And please, WirePlus? The only reason to have ever used that system on a Big Dog was because there wasn't anything else.
And before the hating starts I realize that some of you have installed or had installed the Wire Plus and you haven't had any issues and that's great. But with better options available, and all of the failed Wire Plus systems that I have had to replace or repair, there is no reason to use it. Who really wants that huge bundle stuffed under their seat.
Anyone who has struggled putting in a RIP or the other system knows how much of a pain it can be especially when they don't even send instructions with it.
And I don't buy into the whole Big Dog electrical systems are junk because their not. Like anything it requires maintenance which so few really attend to.

Forgetting the other hassles and focusing on the electronics, if it has been built solid with good components, its all the same as far as the controller goes and I feel comfortable and have had enough discussions with the builder to know that the Electronik EHC is a solid unit.
The RIP systems utilize the ThunderHeart mini chopper module which is a good, solid unit also.
The Electronik unit has been designed and developed by an individual who knows these systems and uses it on their own Big Dog.
I use them in my customer's bikes and I run one in my own K9 as well as sell them on my site.

Having said all of the above each person has to make their own decision. I'm not here to influence that decision to any great degree. I am simply here offering the best solutions I can the best way I know how.

It will not work with your current Main harness simply because the connector has been cut off but it isn't a big deal replacing that harness.
I do several a year here.

You stock these all the time, right? Just not at the promo price? I have 2 bikes, both 06, both on the last round of the USB EHC and both are (fingers crossed) still working without issue. Plus I have air ride on my K9 which I'd like to keep and not have to do a switch for (unless that's easy?)

I suppose my point is--if/when these EHC's go, you'll have these as a replacement? Last I looked into this everyone was doing the wires plus kits which was an insane level of modification.

Yes we stock them all the time.
You will have to put in a switch for your air ride though as I did on my K9.

Do you sell a little kit or have instructions on how to do that? I'm considering hedging by decade of riding on this EHC and replacing them now.

The 03s used a Chinese Knock off of the Thunderheart.
    02s used the Thunderheart module.
WSW sells a kit to convert the 03 back to an original Thunderheart module and moves the stress of the starter relay off the EHC to its own stand alone Relay.
I don't know that I would say the 03 style Thunderheart is comparable to the Electronik EHC.
If they have upgraded their components over the years to the newer more reliable and robust components I would say yes otherwise I would think no.

No, haven't had time to put anything together.
It really isn't complicated so I suppose I could get something together.
Just a mini switch and a relay.
