Is there a gas cap (for a BDM) that doesn't seize?

Gas cap going to require pliers to get off.
Prefer not to buy another version of the same thing (that will eventually seize also).
This doesn't happen on other bikes, at least not mine, so clearly the technology to produce a non locking gas cap exists.
Does anyone produce a non locking gas cap for BDMs, specifically an 04 ridgeback?

Use channel lock pliers and like they said tape it up real good plus put towels across it. I just replaced mine and its an 06 was factory cap so it takes a long time to swell the plastic. Use ethanol free fuel. Ordered mine from wild steed works

    I guess use-life is a better term than shelf-life.
If I put on a new gas cap and run ethanol gas constantly, let's say I typically ride 3-4 times per week, am I looking at replacing the gas cap annually, every third year ... approximately?

I have had 4 different big dogs and never had a gas cap problem. Running ethnol i think i would get into the habit of loosening the cap at the end of the day.

I hope i didnt just jinx myself

Does aluminum threading not seize up? If so they sounds like a solution to me.

Have you tried coating the threads with a small amount of oil. I barely tighten the gas cap, just after it stops I do about an eighth of a turn.

Aluminum isn't effected by the ethanol.

I ordered the aluminum threading from Mr. Wright. I'm hoping this solves the issue (once I get the old cap off that is)
