I have 04 Chopper and in the city I think I can run about 120 before having to fill up. You guys that run longer trips, how many miles before you need to get gas?

I fill up every 100 to 120 miles. I get 42mpg or slightly above with just steady freeway driving. Now, to and from work, I will get 32 mpg. So, your question all depends on the rider in a lot of cases. If you want to ride like granny, I'm sure you can get 47 mpg!

I've got an 04 chopper and fill up ever 100-110, but try to keep it under 100. Now when i do its usually obly 2.5 gallons 3 max- but I dont risk it - I've run out 2 times before doing trip meter resets - and the reserve has failed me both times - no idea why - but I just don't go there anymore, lol.
I am running mikuni carb and cone filter - (pointing forward)

fill up at 95 miles to 115 typically; 2.8 to 3.1 gallons (but fill below neck always)
runs out of gas at 118 to 132 miles depending on ride; have run up to 136 miles per tank on freeway
Reserve goes about 900 feet; not worth the push...

Side note: Different brands of gas at same octane idle and run different (typically use Chevron Premium).

Why do you all get such bad mileage? I average 50mpg with my 03, and have gotten a much as 57mpg, out of it, and around 48 mpg with the 04.

That's what I was wondering reading all these. I've aken road trips with a few dogs and they all got worse gas mileage then mine. When Eric and I rode to Kansas last year, he always took a few more bucks then I did every time we stopped.. I have 78 and 32 I believe jets,.. aside from that my bike was all stock.. now it's far from stock and it' still getting pretty good gas mileage

Yeah.. not my thing. After the rebuild I took it to Galveston to for the rally, came back and topped off, it averaged 47.6 for that trip. Which is only about 2.5 mpg less then normal for highway mileage for me. This is 35 plus more horses then factory.. so Idk.
