Most remember back when Shain went down to Florida to get his K9, then the next week he hit a deer. It took a few months to get it back together, and we were on a limited budget. Just made it ride-able, and fixed the dent in the tank and painted with a rattle can.

Well the time has come to do a complete make over of this salty Dog.
Sorry I didn't get many pictures of the tear down. I'll try to do better on the build.
Right after we started, Sniper stopped by, but was no help.

We had a late start, and called it quits after 5 hours.

You can see how the salt air destroys aluminum.

Had to drill the bolts out, to get the brake rotors off.

By lunch time, we had everything cleaned up. Rolled it off the table and removed the forks

After much discussion, we came up with a paint idea, based of Shamrocks bike, but won't look like his.
He's going to have the frame power coated in a dark forest green. Like the early 70 GM color. It's almost black, it's so dark. What we like about Shamrock's bike, is the flames are the same color as the frame. And the base color will be Organic green candy, over Planet green base coat.

    Stay tuned.

Looks good so far. Wow that salt really beat it up.

Curious to hear how the powder coating goes, we might have another frame soon behind it!

Tell you the truth I forgot about it. I currently don't have room for it. But may have to purchase it and loan it to a good friend that always helps me out with my bikes ;)

Haven't heard from Shain. Think he's taking his aluminum to Mike the polish guy too. Maybe he'll post pictures as he get them too.

No progress on this end. Powder coaters were supposed to have samples for me last Friday, called Monday and the powder hadn’t showed up yet. Mikes been really busy, so the engine is still riding around with me everywhere I go. Ugh, story of my life. Always something holding up progress.

Shain dropped his frame by today, and I got the base coat of green on his tins. Computer in the shop, so you will have to wait until tomorrow for pictures.
Thinking about doing some scales all over the tins before shooting the candy on. Then the flames will be the same color as the frame.
