So the weather has decided to be 55 today and I thought great day for ride. Bike fired right up went for a ride stopped at the store on the way back then Bike would not start. Key on headlights work, Blinkers work, Horn works but no start. I pull the seat and EHC has no lights at all which I find odd that all my other stuff works. I use a small wire to go from positive to the green wire on starter relay while pressing start button and fires right up. Ride home and park then it fires right up again still with no lights on EHC. I suspect bad EHC as it is cold out however why would everything else still work. Did someone do some odd wiring prior to me owning bike? Should I just call Donna and get Alex's kit? What are your guys thoughts?
Axel's would be a true plug and play but if you thinking your bike may have been rewired in some way then you might want to think about the ESC if it comes with a new loom.
May want to check the wire that connects to the starter could be loose causing intermittent problems.
I checked the green wire to the starter it was good and clean. The only reason I thought maybe something was wired different is EHC has no lights at all yet all blinkers lights and horn works I thought usually when they died none of that worked. Is it best to go direct to Axel or does he sell through a vendor here?
Before you spend money you may not have to, check and see if you have 12 v coming out of the green solinoid wire when you hit the start button. It may be as simple as the solinoid contacts need cleaned
Sounds like the EHC is going. You should have a power on light with the key turned on. Is it the original one? Alex's would be a good choice just mount it and plug it in.
