No the rocker lockers are tapered bushings that go inside rocker box bolt holes and take up the gap between the bolt and notch in rocker shaft.

Not sure why you say that, They are notoriously noisy.

I have mine out and the shaft bushings are fine, but there is a lot of play between the notch in shaft and the bolt.

Mine sounds like crap, I can’t stand it.

Weird forum is causing problems on tapatalk and double posting so I tried to delete.

How do you know the shaft bushings are fine? Also that could just mean the shaft is worn.

Lots of guys with lots of miles...60k plus and no lockers. And I can't find any that fit S&S anyways, then all state Harley. Also the issue was really came to life on the twin Cam Harley's and we don't even have that motor. Maybe John will chime in if he is using them on S&S and where to source.

Take a look at Marky Marks video on this should help explain a little better with a visual. I know this is a TP engine but same is possible with S&S

Also note the S&s manual the bushings are in spec between 0.5546" - 0.5559". That's only 13 thousands of an inch!

That's why I asked how do you know they are in spec? I know I don't trust my calipers to measure that small I got a cheap set.. Haha

You have a point, I was simply going by how loose they felt, and my Conversation with John, and also a lot of info out there on the Harley's. They designs of teh rockers are all essentially the same.

I want to address it while I have mine tore apart.

It's my understanding that the 117 is already hopped up by s&s specifically for big dog back in the day so why push it further???

It's worth a thought, cause if the bushings are out of spec the rocker lockers wouldn't quiet it down necessarily.

And like I said I'm curious what John uses looking at Rocker Lockers and Rock Out website just states "harley" so I just don't know if the Bolt are the same size between Harley and S&S.

It's all about making an EPA restricted engine more efficient. The after bonus is an increase in horsepower, torque, longevity.

I have to call them to find out if they're available for the S&S saddles.
They sure work in the Twin Cams.
