Also...any news from Frankie at FSD? I'd be willing to wait 6 months or so if he really plans to start production again but if he's not then I guess I'll have to find an alternative.

No. I tried to contact them to no avail. Many have said they weren’t coming back idk. So I ordered Blow exhaust from Barnes Performance. They are the closest to Frankie’s I could find. Good luck.

Do they make a set for 06 K9? I just looked and they do make RSD for an 06 model but not for a 300 Rear tire. Am I wrong about this?

Yes you are wrong. I just bought a set for my 08 k9 RSD 300 tire. Call Andrew. Super nice guy. He will hook you up. VCW didn’t have what I wanted.

I see them! I was just at their site an hour ago but I guess I had my phone screen too big and didn't see the RSD for 300 Rear. Cannot tell you how much I appreciate your reply. I was on the verge of ordering a set that I really wasn't 100% happy with. Just a little frustrated that I couldn't get a set from FSD. I want to call Andrew because I need a 32 Tooth belt for the Short Belt Kit I ordered. They sell three versions, different manufacturers so I wanted to get his advice before ordering. One other question. My bike is not in a garage...it's under an awning and I keep an outdoor cover on it. I have alot of work to do on it...replacing bolts and I need to send my Tranny gear cover and Belt Guard to be rechromed. Will it hurt to leave the exhaust off for an Extended period of time?

I ordered the chrome/chrome finish. Haven’t got them yet so not sure about blueing. They have a ceramic coating inside the pipes and the holes on the guards also cut down the heat to avoid blueing. Knothead has the black ones on his chopper and they look good. He likes them and they look good

Thanks...that sounds like a good idea. I emailed Andrew about the pipes and he said he would call me Monday for the order. I really appreciate all the info. I ordered new oil Lines for Wildsteadworx...installing them now. Should I be concerned about air getting into the pump?

I DON"T want to rain on anyones parade, but my question is : What ever happened to equal length pipes ? Especially, if using straight pipes, an S&S CARB ? :oldbang:
Knothead is running them and says it woke up his chopper. Have talked to others who say the same thing we shall see but I like the look of em.

Called Andrew today at Barnes Performance and ordered the BLOW Exhaust and a few more items. He has to order them so it will be a couple of weeks. Anyway, looking forward to receiving them. One more step in my Refurbishment Project.

I didn’t say that. You are revered for your knowledge and experience. I’m just saying that the pipes seem to work and they look good. We shall see how they do in a few weeks.

Just to update. Still waiting on my blow pipes from Andrew at barnesperformancecycles.com. I didn’t realize what he does to provide us pipes. Before ordering them from Andrew I contacted blow exhaust in Australia. They don’t make them for our bikes anymore. So Andrew gets them from blow and modifies them to fit our big dogs. If it wasn’t for Andrew doing this we would be very limited on pipe options. Most likely would all be buying big radius. It takes some time to get em but at least you still can.

I didn't know that either. He did mention something about a modification...I thought he was referring to a support bracket. Anyway, I'm in total agreement with you on that. I am EXTREMELY grateful to Andrew and his willingness to go to all this trouble for probably just a few ordere. I like the Blow exhaust but I would still buy an FSD if given the chance. If Frankie does ever begin to manufacture again please let me know.

As long as you don’t put the baffles in you will be golden! The pipes will blue but the covers are awesome and that’s why they are on them. Glad you gave Andrew a call. He is a great guy

Yes...I really liked Andrew. We spent quite a while talking about my bike. I told him that I was getting alot of corrosion on on Bolts and fittings. He asked me if the bike was on a concrete patio (outside); then told me that moisture will evaporate from the slab then move upwards into the tarp...essentially trapping it. He suggested I put down a rubber backed outdoor rug. When he said that I knew he was right. I've stored the bike outside under (patio & awning) for three years. I only started getting corrosion about six months ago...when I REMOVED my rubber mat! The mat was looking a little ratty from spilled oil and cleaning products so I pulled it up. I never thought of it as a moisture barrier. He nailed it...no doubt that's the source of my corrosion problems. So yes, I really appreciate the time he spent talking with me and caring enough about my bike to suggest a solution.
