open - no more primiary fliud changing, more adjustable clutch no more slipping, no more problems with oil in starter, cool sound and look.

Open= looks good and gives you something to bang on the road when making left turns
Close=typical normal look of every other bike but less chance of hitting

Open-Cool, no fluids, no oil into starter, no fun if you get a pant leg caught in belt, more suceptiable to having road debries thrown into belt and shredding or f-ing up the pulleys-cost

Closed, not as cool, more maintenance (change oil, adjust chain), better protection to drive componets, will not tear the crap out of ankle of calve if you set your leg against the primary.

This would be exactly why I wont go open. "more suceptiable to having road debries thrown into belt and shredding or f-ing up the pulleys-cost"

My friends bike has an open primary, and he had a rock kick up and go into the belt at 70 mph...... Wasn't a pretty site being next to him while it happened. No thanks.....

I have a closed primary....but if I had the Benjamens I would get the 4" Karata open primary. The open primary's are just too cool. Its on my list, I just need the money :D

how about quicker throttle response, less resistance than chain, less weight, equal bikes, equal rider, belt beats chain in race -- and cool factor

Ringo, which open primary is that. Does it take some weight off the left side to help balance the bike out better?
