Red letter Y on left side of speedometer

One of the old ones.
My 2010 Bagger has a yellow image of a tiny V-twin engine on the left side of the speedo, but it's a 'check engine' light. I don't think it ever shows red.

It's the red light on the left Center of the speedo is there is the letter Y not sure if you can see in the picture that stays lit

Here is a picture with bike turned off. You can clearly see the letter Y middle left side of speedometer. 2007 bulldog does anyone know when y is lit on what that means. Check engine etc.

you need a laptop, a usb cable ( but it is a little different type ) and s&s was giving away the software program for free because big dog had closed down. I do not no if they still are. with this you can read everything to help find problems. If you can get this, you can call S&S when you have hooked up and they will help you in most cases for free. they have been great help to me over the years.

Thank you very much I will try logging on to S&S website and see what happens. I just drove it around the block and it kept cutting out on me after a couple minutes it will restart and ride fine and then do the same thing all over again

Strokers on Dallas has all of that BDM software. The trouble light came n in my 2010 Bulldog when we were down that way and it turned out to be a common thing--the O2 sensor. Bruce's suggestion to call S&S is solid....They have guys who get paid to solve problems for S&S consumers.
You might give Derek a call at 214-357-0707. Don't know where you live, but they are in Dallas. I have an idea that some of the members here might know of other former BDM dealerships that still have the diagnostic software available--I'll bet Gateway in St. Louis might help you out too. Maybe you should consider starting a new thread for that Info.
I found out with my EFI Harley that it doesn't take much to screw up the calculus used the computer program. The HD had a heat sensor go out, and it did all kinds of weird stuff...$40 and 20 minutes to fix. One glitch can ricochet into the damndest symptoms.

If it is fuel injected, check fuel pressure, check manual I think it is 60 psi. I had a friend I helped who had same problem. his fuel pump was only about 35 psi , bike ran but poorly and would cut out also. he did not no it was running poorly until a new pump was installed - big difference. most of the manuals are here on this site, just ask and download - manual is a must have.

Bruce, thanks I will check that and also look for a manual, I know I definitely need one of those

If it is your fuel pump, Bruce is correct--the manual says 58-62 psi. You check it by using the the schrader valve (like a tire valve) by the frame support under your tank (rt side). Viking had some problems with his, and he bought a rebuild kit from Big Dog in Wichita (316-260-8039). I got one too and rebuilt mine just because it sounded funny and I didn't trust it. Believe me, if you price a new fuel pump and then look at the $125-150 to rebuild, you'll know what to do. Not a real challenging task, but you have to drain and remove the tank, etc. Took me 2 days!
Here is a schematic of my pump, and a drawing of the location in the tank (it's in right half as you are sitting on the bike). The last image is what it looks like assembled on the panel that fits in the tank.

should think about replacing the sock on fuel pump also, If that ends up being problem, after repair bike ran better then ever but some months later - ended up have to replace the sock - it can be pricey I think it was about $125.00, maybe check around and try and find a better price, all of this work was on a WOLF
