My prediction is the bolts loosened up and with the free play it just sheered off when I honked on the throttleDude, how the hell did you do that?
Don’t have that kind of scratch at the moment, have other priorities ,lolOpen Primary time ??
Might be the case although seems to be alright after inspecting it,I have a feeling the bolts loosened up over the yearsYou are talking about the backside of that basket right? You could have to much play in the transmission shaft which caused that to flex into the cast. Even the stock stuff had a tendency to rub but over time it could get worse.
Yea if just one gets loose it will stress the rest.Might be the case although seems to be alright after inspecting it,I have a feeling the bolts loosened up over the years
Are they still in business? I tried calling for the past week ,no one is answeringYea if just one gets loose it will stress the rest.
They still make the parts you can just get a new inner and outer go to their website or give them a call.
These are Harley softail 85-89 evo parts. I suspect you can get the parts for around $100 Vs new will be $500

I got the Rivera primo clutch, not sure if they are still in business, called them all week with no success,I’d like to install the baker clutch, thnx for the offer MikeIf not, I've got a used BDM clutch maybe 20K, that could use a new bearing but other wise is OK that we could talk about.
Bear with me!View attachment 62826 View attachment 62825 View attachment 62824 View attachment 62823 Update on my clutch?looks like the bolts sheared off between the sprocket and the basket t,not sure if I should try to fix it or go with a new clutch, possibly Baker, this is a Primo 1200,not sure if they still make em,any advice would be greatly appreciated
Yes it can still fixable, the sheared bolts easily will come out the sprocket ,I took 2 of them out with a set of pliers ,appreciate the inputI totally agree with you Paul. You can’t really see from the picture but it does look like they sheared off flush with the sprocket. The picture from the other side of the sprocket that’s at an angle you can see the bolts are sticking out. If they sheared off flush or just a hair below JR I would do just like Paul says to do drill them and use an easyout to get them out then use a thread chaser or tap to clean up the threads and reuse it. But that’s just me I’m a tight ass I just hate to spend money when I don’t have to.
Appreciate the input Paul,I just took 2 bolts out of the sprocket with a set of pliers ,the bolts in the carrier are already out as they were just loose,so iam pretty sure it’s fixable,I would like to beef up my clutch tho and at least get new clutch plates,I felt it was slipping a bitBear with me!
I don’t know much about the propriety 05 bdm primaries .
However before spending any $ you don’t need to spend I would check the tolerances and thread stretch . It may be a simple as using a tap and die to clean up the threads unless the bolts have sheared to short. It’s hard for me in the pics .
Very good point Dave,I rather spend the money on cigars beer and strip clubs, lolI personally don't have money to throw away on something new, if what I have is fixable. But that's me... Big Doggin on a budget.
go with a Bandit Clutch - I've had one on each of my K-9's

I'd call them -- looks like there a small glitch on their page referencing the Bruiser clutch and make sure they still have it - they did 1 yr ago.
Well warped clutch plates should be allot cheaper than replacing the whole basket. I would check the threads and still run a tap through them. New hardware and you should be good to go.Appreciate the input Paul,I just took 2 bolts out of the sprocket with a set of pliers ,the bolts in the carrier are already out as they were just loose,so iam pretty sure it’s fixable,I would like to beef up my clutch tho and at least get new clutch plates,I felt it was slipping a bit
