You are talking about the backside of that basket right? You could have to much play in the transmission shaft which caused that to flex into the cast. Even the stock stuff had a tendency to rub but over time it could get worse.

Might be the case although seems to be alright after inspecting it,I have a feeling the bolts loosened up over the years

Yea if just one gets loose it will stress the rest.

They still make the parts you can just get a new inner and outer go to their website or give them a call.

These are Harley softail 85-89 evo parts. I suspect you can get the parts for around $100 Vs new will be $500

Bear with me!
I don’t know much about the propriety 05 bdm primaries .
However before spending any $ you don’t need to spend I would check the tolerances and thread stretch . It may be a simple as using a tap and die to clean up the threads unless the bolts have sheared to short. It’s hard for me in the pics .

I totally agree with you Paul. You can’t really see from the picture but it does look like they sheared off flush with the sprocket. The picture from the other side of the sprocket that’s at an angle you can see the bolts are sticking out. If they sheared off flush or just a hair below JR I would do just like Paul says to do drill them and use an easyout to get them out then use a thread chaser or tap to clean up the threads and reuse it. But that’s just me I’m a tight ass I just hate to spend money when I don’t have to.

Yes it can still fixable, the sheared bolts easily will come out the sprocket ,I took 2 of them out with a set of pliers ,appreciate the input

Appreciate the input Paul,I just took 2 bolts out of the sprocket with a set of pliers ,the bolts in the carrier are already out as they were just loose,so iam pretty sure it’s fixable,I would like to beef up my clutch tho and at least get new clutch plates,I felt it was slipping a bit

Well warped clutch plates should be allot cheaper than replacing the whole basket. I would check the threads and still run a tap through them. New hardware and you should be good to go.
Still wonder what would have caused them to snap ? Wonder if the slipping in the clutch caused them to snap or maybe the hardware was compromised and that is why your clutch was slipping.
