New HF lift & chock

Well I finally got the harbor freight table lift and wheel chock. I mocked up the wheel chock on the floor with my 06 Mastiff and it appears the front fender ill have contact with the chock if I push or ride it into position. I was hoping to use a lift after I’m done with my maintenance to store my bike but I don’t wanna have to take the fender off her every time. Does anybody have a workaround for this I’m using the harbor freight chock mounted past the end of the table so I can get some extra length. Not a terrible job unloading and setting up but not great fun doing this solo. Any input is appreciated.

Yes take a grinder and remove part of the back side of the rear chock.

looks like you could cut that chock down to miss your fender.

I cut mine down on the sides also, works great

Looking at the pictures again. I have mine turned opposite then cut off the outside parts. I probably could have cut a little more. That part doesn't touch the tire anyway. Just there to hit you fender. Ha Ha.

I have the same set up. The wheel chock holds the bike in place while you strap your bike down. A one man operation putting the bike on the lift. I installed the same wheel chock inside my enclosed trailer.

It looks like you had to grind quite a bit of that chock. Does the chock still lock in the tire and allow bike to stand on its own? Thanks for pics.

The HF chock item# 61670 is adjustable to fit your front wheel 15 inch to 22 inch wheels, 80-127W, and once you have the wheel chock properly adjusted just drive up on the lift rolling your front wheel into the chock the bottom part of the chock ( cradle?) rotates forward as the front wheel rolls into the shock holding your front wheel in place. Yes it holds the bike up right but I still secure with straps for safety especially if I'm going to raise the lift. I have a 2006 Pitbull and no grinding was necessary.

Have you changed the direction of the cradle? In your photo showing the Stanley tool box and the blue 5 gallon bucket the cradle is facing the same as mine but in some of your other photos the cradle looks like it's been turned around 180 degrees.

Well using my OTC lift I dropped the 06 Mastiff into the HF wheel chock. I Don’t know why I did not think of this earlier. I changed the tall and short side and it worked either way, there’s not a lot of clearance when using the tall side out. Using the tall side out, the bike was definitely more secure.

WTF, these are the most cheap ass zirk fittings I have ever dealt with. Out of the six grease points two of the fittings broke off as I pulled my grease gun off of them I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Well I just got it all installed so I got to at least try it out a few times and see how it works for me. Lol

Is your tire contact point still on the table?

ok to extend but I have mine so the contact point is still on table.

ok to extend but I have mine so the contact point is still on table.

. I would say it’s close but contact point of the tire is just off the table. I saw few other members who’s front tire was just of the table also. I hope it does not bend the chock. Time will tell.

I can‘t believe this solid rod bent within seconds of slowly dropping the weight of the bike onto to safety rod. I saw a YouTube video in which the biker posted a video, it showed a HF table lift with it’s safety bar bent in a u shape and his lift frame rails were bent outward, he said he left his bike in the highest position overnight and in the morning found his bike still upright but the platform was completely collapsed morning and the bar was completely bent in a u shape. I felt the heft of the rod and thought there was no way that happened, now I believe it because I watched it with my own eyes. That is not an optical illusion it is actually bent, after removing the rod I tried to roll it on the end without the loop and it was obviously bent was not like that just seconds before WTF? Has anyone else on this forum experienced this with their safety Rod and their harbor freight lift?
