2000 bulldog starter question looking for a new starter, length differences

Looks like i might need a starter, found this one that i believe is the correct one, but it doesnt have the slam button on it. Does my current button swap over to it? Is the slam button an add on part?

It should...look at the end of you starter and look at the one your going to buy.

Anyone know the length difference between a short and long starter? The one i posted is a short but i dont see measurements fir the difference.

Slam button ususally will fit any harley style starter up to 99 for a softwail except the compufire if my memory serves correctly,

Your bike should have the 1.6 starter..they used those on all bulldogs from 2000-2004...i just put one on Rods 04 bulldog back in June of this.year

So the short one? Bigdogpartsking said to look at mine and i should be able to figure it out, but couldnt help with measurements or any way to know.

Looks like i have the longer starter, but looks like its suppose to be the short one. The post in the bottom of the solenoid must have contacted the speed sensor so the cut it apart and siliconed it in.

Yes you can put your slam button right on that.
