2001 Husky Wiring Problem

Energy One
Can anyone help? I ride a 2001 Husky still new. 8ooo miles, And and nothing but problems. In the last year fork problems module ehc problems starter problems. and about $1500 out of my pocket. The latest thought i would take a ride, turned over a couple times, then no power at all. turm key on nothing. I don't even no where to start. I just sold my 97 Hert. Never had one problem with it, i thinking i sold the wrong bike. Any help out there? Wallace P.S I let my local Big Dog service dealer have it for 2 weeks and when i got it back it ran great ror about 10 blocks. Wayne over a Southern v twin had it running right in about one hour. Until now.  :loony:

Hey Wallace, I think i would start by checking your battery cables, then the battery itself. Make sure everything is tight and clean. I would also check the ignition switch for loose or broken wires.:zz2cents:

Wallace if you go to the introduction section and post an intro. A little about yourself you will get great response. Make sure you keep that battery on a tender. If its old you might not have enough cca    Read up on some threads there is all kind of info.on here. WELCOME TO THE SITE !!!

Wallace,
can we get a little more info on what the bike is doing (or not doing) and what you've checked?

Is the bike totally dead (as if there was no battery installed)??

Give us something to start with.

Thanks, It was running good, the battery has a full charge. I went to crank it turned over fine. I turned key off to push in the compression release, turned key on no power at all, no lights no nothen. I had the int mod and the ehc replaced about 6 mounts ago, with new parts now my local service rep says sorry no warrenty.

Wiggle the key switch around! Maybe it's worn out. Do you have lots of keys hanging on it?

might help

i have an 03 Boxer, the only fusible link i find goes to regulator. u need get test light and find out where ur power cuts off, start at battery and work ur way to key switch, goes to EHC module and under tank. sounds like u got a wire unpluged or break to switch.

Even so there might be a brake in the switch, When i pulled the switch out ,i connected the switch wires togather, i still don't any kind of power. other then one of the switch wires is still hot. Doe"s anyone know where the wires go. I know one must come from the battery, not suer about the other...BAFFELD

Maybe check ground wires, make sure they're not corroded, and are making good contact. I had that happen once on my harley, and it was the ground attached to the engine.

elec problems

I guess what i don't understand with all the electrical problems with some models, Why in the world does'nt Big Dog offer some kind of support, Help, imfo or anything, Besides take to your local rep, Witch most hav'nt a clue whats going on. I'm not saying all reps. But the one in my area witch there is only one that i can find. Surely thay could something. I like my bike, But i hate the problem. And i've hade plenty. My bike is a2001 Husky 8000 miles still allmost in mint cond.$17,900 new Why should i have to pay a dealer to rewire my bike, When thay know there is a problem. :loony:
