I have a 2002 Big Dog Bull Dog. Last year at the end of the season it owuld internittenlly just die while running down the road. Just as if the ignition was shut off. If it sat for a few minutes it would start back up.
This season started fine but last night ran into the same problem. It is getting fuel and when restarting will get a back fire and a nice blue flame out the exhaust pipe. The lights stay on and the bike has a "slam starter" so will turn over with little problem.
I've had the bike to 2 different mechanics. They checked the coil and it seems that the problem never happens when they have it...only happens at 2 a.m. when trying to get home. Most of the time the bike will start back up after a short rest. May die again in 200 yards or drive 10 miles home.
I would truly appreciate any insight to this issue and any suggestions.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and any and all replies are appreciated.
Thanks...Dave
