Does anyone know what would be a good aftermarket replacement for the Thunderheart Ignition Module that came on the 2004 Pitbull. My TH is done and I would like to go with the best but easiest aftermarket replacement. Also what all do I need to replace to make the change work. My EHC went out first and I went with the bigdog PDM setup. But now the TH Module is done. Attached is a pic of my Module. Thanks for the help.

Your only real option is to go with a cam chest module.
If you do allot of riding your not likely going to be happy with it.
The newer technology gets the less the quality is.
There was a time when some of the modules out there would stand up to the heat and vibration but I don't think that quality is there anymore. Thats why the engine makers have been moving towards remote modules and crank sensors.
Instead of buying a cam chest sensor every so often at 50 or 60 bucks you'll be buying an entire module at 200 or so.
Just something to think about.

Would I be better off just going back with the Thunderheart module that is on the bike or some other module. any recommendations?

I do not. This is on my short list for next winter. With the 5012 you can adjust your module. I believe if you call them, they can do a plug n play on the BDM's. I may be wrong or they may not do that anymore.....worth a quick call tho.

I don't think the 5012 will work with a cam sensor only with a crank sensor. IE 05+ models.

I have always wanted to replace mine. Is there an option to go with a programmable thunderheart with the cam sensor though? I didn't think they had a remote unit for that application

I believe I have the same problem, also a 2004 same setup. No red light on the Thunderheart Ignition Module check 12 vdc going to and leaving module to cam sensor. Coil is good. So I replaced cam sensor. Same thing no red light or spark. Have 13 volts at battery but only 10 volts when motor is spinning. Could this be a problem? Will the Thunderheart Ignition Module not work if less than 12 volts?

I have a Crane HI4 on my Harley and like it. I know heat is a issue with these. The pipes on my Dog go over the cone not under. Has anyone used a HI4 ?

Red light should come on when you hit the run button.

It's been awhile so I need to review the wiring diagram but check power across the pins not just power to battery ground.

When you replaced came sensor you put it back in the same exact spot? Otherwise timing is off.

You have stock EHC?

Hum, Yes stock EHC. When I check power to module I took apart the four wire plug going to the module and check the red wire from the EHC. When I hit the run button. Then plugged it back in and took apart the three wire plug going to the cam sensor and had power on the red wire also.

I have a good wiring Dia. Just a pain checking with these JST connectors. Even have power to coil. Had to take the coil and key cover off the bike to test. I need some female JST plugs with short wires. Tried checking at the connector but could not figure out how to short the key wires and check voltage to the coil red wire. Need two more hands. And better eyes.
