Was out on the dog participating in a charity bike run for St Jude's hospital. In the middle of the run , the bike just stopped running ,still had all lights and battery. pulled in the clutch , Did a maneuver to get to the shoulder of the road. Put it in neutral and started right up ,Ran the rest of the day just fine.Speedo did flash but this is the second time this has happened. I just pull over stop and start and everything is good. I don't know where to start looking. But I have a breast cancer run this weekend with about 600 bikes. Hard to find when she runs fine. But I would like to nip this in the bud before I have a problem.Just don't know what to look for ,all connections seem good.
Strange!! Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you to all. Can I hit the start button when the bike is rolling like that?? Speedometer was reading about 30 35.

FREEDOM!!!
While your rolling and it cuts out you can pull in the clutch, hit stop/start switch to run, and pop the clutch back out while still in gear to turn engine over to restart. Just be careful you have room ahead and pull in clutch when it starts so you don't surge forward unexpectedly. As for what is the root cause it's hard to say without investigating at the time of the incident. Strange though!

PS. If you need a hand let me know. I have a fluke multimeter and 25 years experience in electro/mechanical machinery troubleshooting. I commute from Mattituck to Hauppauge most days when I'm in NY so I could stop by with my meter on my way home around 5:00 PM. Let me know.

I would start at the key switch. Mine did the exact same thing. I put a jumper and a toggle switch on mine and problem went away. Replaced with the sportster switch because I was going to change to the Wireplus anyway. Haven't had that problem since.
