Make sure terminals are clean and tight.

Make sure it is charging. Should have 14 volts when running.
That is where I would start.

My 08 ridge did the same thing. Had corrosion under battery terminals that you could not see until i pulled battery cables. I cleaned them and problem was fixed
I now clean them about every three months os so.

If the only thing you did was change the battery, I would check the battery terminals are clean and tight. Then I would suspect the battery. Get somebody to load test it. Even if it is new, it can be defective and/or have a bad cell. It may be affected by heat!

My buddy has a Mastiff, and he had the same problems. It ended up being the voltage regulator. changed it out and everything was fine.

I have the same shit. When the bike is cold it starts fine. When I get gas it starts fine. If it sits between 15 minutes and one hour the first press of the start button just gives me a click. The second press starts right up. If it sits more than a hour it starts fine. I gave up looking and just live with it.

Obviously not charging. Check the voltage at the at the battery with the bike running. Should have 13 or 14 volts. Also as stated above check the terminals for corrision and tightness.

Just curious, what kind of battery do you have? Even a new battery can go bad real quick. I've installed a voltage indicator on my bike from DeadOneCustoms. If the bike isn't charging properly (too high or too low voltage) the light will come on letting me know that either the battery, VR or stator are not working properly. Just something to consider. I've been left on the side of the road due to bad batteries and VR problems, but not since I put my fault light on.
