Belt adjustment

Has anyone tightened their belt with out using the measuring tool?
A friend of mine has a AIH and is saying he has been told you can adj the
belt the same amount of turns on each side and it won't change the alignment
He just needs to tighten up his belt a little.

That is exactly what I did about 4000 miles ago and haven't had any issues. I did measure to make sure it was square afterwards. I would recommend alternating sides a little at a time.

You can do that as long as you don't currently have any problems.

You can also use one of those household wall laser line up things... you can get them cheap.

Most importantly... make sure it is aligned correctly. You can do this with a simple tape measure... measure from the center of the pivit bolt to the center of the axle
