Just traded in my 07 Pitt and got a brand new 330 Ridgeback. I kept my air cleaner stock on the Pitt but would like to replace it on my new bike. Any suggestions?? I never heard anything good about the Spiked air cleaners..... With that said, what are you guys using and what seems to work good for a reasonable price?

Thanks in Advance.

Does it still run good with this cleaner?? I Heard spikes Eff up the idle.

How much is that kit with the cover?
I had a spike for a few minutes, ended up giving it away on ebay. Would'nt run for shit.

Here's the link for the covers.

Exotx: "V-Twin Intake Filters

BTW, I am not affiliated with this company, I just use their product. See my biker photos...

Using that filter you retain your stock choke lever correct?

A friend of mine has a spike on his 06 Ridgeback. Bike runs like crap but i dont have the heart to tell him its because of the air filter, he bought his spike at a dealer and had them install it to the tune of $650 lol

sounds like you may not be aware that the lever is NOT a choke. it is an enrichener. if at all possible, do not use this or it will completely foul your plugs. crack the throttle a couple times before you turn on the key and then start like it was warm. enrichener= last resort and then make sure you turn it off as soon as it starts.

My 07 would barely run without "the choke", New bike seems to do fine without it, and yes you are correct, if i left it on for a while while warming the bike up it seems like it was clearing up for first 2 mi of the ride.

There are hundreds of tests out there and believe it or not your current aircleaner IS the best out there. S&S developed the horn that has been copied by many that helps funnel and increase velocity through the carb.
About the only thing you may want to do is change out the filter to a re-usable one. Or the extended kit that's been mentioned.

I don't think your following this, these dogs have NO choke, that is the enricher, and it can do worse than kill your plugs, it can cause major long term effects, you end up with cylinder wash due to the amount of fuel being dumped in. DO NOT USE the enricher! Last resort only!

clarification-

a choke throws more air into the mixture, an enrichener throws more gas into the mixture

As most have already indicated, the stock air cleaner does a great job after you remove the stock air cleaner element and replace it with a K&N reusable type. Also I removed my solid front trap door and installed a wire mesh in its place to improve air flow and BDM makes a chrome louvered insert that will allow more cool air to enter the filter. It's a very simple and cheap upgrade.....
