Bike keeps stalling?

My bike has been stalling almost on every ride with a full tank of gas.I pull over, switch to reserve and it runs fine.What can this be?

not trying to be funny, have you looked at the petcock to verify the direction of "on" and "reserve"????????

Lol,yea its turned in the right direction.Its fine for a couple of miles then it just stalls on me for some reason.Like I said i pull over and put it on reserve then it rides fine.

it being the vent doesn't make any sense if it runs fine on reserve. pull the petcock and see if there is trash in it. maybe some of the tank liner. just thinkin'.

check the filter on your petcock the top might be plugged. i also had a defective petcock that would not flow on run but flowed on reserve (bad internal oring) just disconnect the fuel line and check flow into container. if not flowing the same drain tank and remove petcock and check the filter. hope this helps

Having a similar problem on my 04 mastiff, and it appears that my tank liner is failing. Pull the petcock and drain the tank, if you see any irridescent green gunk, the liner is failing.
