I just recently had my 2006 K-9 towed due to the clutch cable adjustment not working properly while riding on the road. I made it home by power-shifting, and had the bike towed to Performance V Twin NJ. The mechanic advised me that the nut in the primary came loose, causing the basket to move resulting in not allowing me to adjust the clutch cable.
I picked up the Bike from the shop yesterday and on my way home the clutch cable slipped while traveling at 70 mph and I could not shift. I pulled over to the shoulder and turned off the bike. I adjusted the clutch cable to the point where it was working correctly. I go to start the bike and NOTHING. The bike didn't kick over and I tried to jump it and NOTHING. Well, I got on the phone with the mechanic and tried to have him walk me though the problem but he didn't know what the problem could be. I had the bike towed back to the shop last night and the mechanic met me at the shop and took a quick look at and could not figure what the problem was.
Note: He had to take my tank off because he found my right turn signal wire severed due to the vibration of the bike. Do you think when he put the tank back on he could have tightened the tank against wires that go into the housing? HELP!!!
I hope this is not the beginning of several problems with my K-9. I have approx. 7850 miles on it.
Note: If anyone gets stuck in New Jersey, I recommend: Spin Cycle Towing. All they do is tow motorcycles. Keep this number handy: 1-800-781-8695
