06 Mastiff with new battery and rebuilt starter last year. Friday it started dieing on me when I shut it off after riding for a while. It will start a few times but wont start after a couple of hours or so. If I leave it on a trickle charger overnight it starts right up. Should I have 6 volts at the small green wire on the solenoid with the key off or is that causing the battery to drain? Also why wouldn't the battery be charging while I'm riding?

check the circuit breaker.. if its triped it wont charge... you might have a main fuse if the curcit breaker was removed... check it... it will be under the seat near the ehc,, the wire from the v/r & battery goes into it.. & yes you have a small amount of voltage @ the green wire on the starter solenoid even with the key off... have you checked the charging system?? stator?? V/R??

I checked the 40 amp main fuse and it looks fine. I don't see a circuit breaker anywhere under the seat. I'm going to try checking the VR and stator tomorrow.
