clutch problem..... I think

I raised my idle as instructed and the lights on my tach still blink. when i have my clutch pulled in it creeps sometimes like my clutch is going out. I think when attempting to adjust the idle i moved the wrong screws and threw my carb out of whack. I also think that my clutch cable needs to be tightened but i don't know how..... before you tell me i did a search and couldn't find anything

help?

Im kind of a newbie here but I have an 05 Mastiff and adjusting the clutch cable was the first thing I learned how to do.
follow your clutch cable down toward the motor, about halfway down the frame you'll see a black rubber boot pull that up or down, you'll see the clutch cable adjustment assembly. it has a long thraeded adjustment piece and a jam nut on top to hold things in place, loosen the jam nut and you will be able to adjust the clutch cable with the long threaded adjustment device you may have to play with it a little bit before you get it perfect when your done tighten the jam nut agian and pull the rubber boot back.

Just a reminder but you don't adjust the clutch with the cable adjuster!!!

As for the Tach lights flashing you still don't have it idled up enough probably. They will flash at under 950 rpm.

What Ray said!!! I gotta tall you though that your problem is probably more than an adjustment. The clutch nut on these bikes are notorious for being loose. Mine was intermittent and after 3 times to the shop tore into it myself and discovered the clutch nut was loose. I replaced the whole clutch while I was in there with a Bandit Super Clutch which was without a doubt the best $488 dollars I ever spent on my bike.

Yep, many of us running the Bandit here and it's cheaper than the stock unit!

The tach lights are run off your ignition. Is it still a stock ignition? You should put a timing light on the plug wire and verify rpm.

Carb screws are in your manual and posted in our "How To" section. But the idle screw is the one on the left/rear side of the carb.
