Clutch won’t engage after replacing cable

I ordered a bandit clutch, and new cable for my 05 Bulldog. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago I was starting to creep and have some slipping issues. Well I started with the cable, and idk I’m having an issue with pushrod adjustment or what, but with the bike in the air and in gear, I cannot get the rear wheel to spin at all when I pull the clutch. I have tried turning the rod clockwise until I feel slight resistance, back it out 1/4 turn, tighten jam nut, adjust slack out of cable, and still nothing. I have tried multiple different adjustments all the way to 2 turns out like I read on another related thread. No luck. I can see the pressure plate move out when I pull clutch, or when I’m turning the push rod in too far, and the bike had neutral before and everything seemed to work properly for the most part, mechanically. So I’m pretty sure it’s not bc I have an oversized rod like I seen mentioned in another post bc it worked before I replaced cable. I would think the rear wheel would still spin with clutch pulled, even if I was close in the adjustment…just with some resistance. It won’t move at all. I have the primary cover off as well bc I’m putting the clutch in next, and I don’t see anything binding. Thanks in advance guys.

If you are going to install a clutch pack, why would you try to adjust the old clutch with a new cable? Put in the new clutch pack and THEN adjust the clutch cable. Jmo.

You’re right, I was just trying to do one thing at a time and I don’t have my primary oil and the impact socket to fit on the compensator so I am trying to be as productive as possible with the time I have. But after lowering the bike and rolling it a little the clutch breaks free, it must just be locked up a little from sitting or has warped steels idk. I’m just trying to get a little help here. And as far as the bandit clutch goes, I received it completely assembled so I’m a little confused on the instructions on their site, do I still need to take it apart and soak the clutch plates, do I need to use the outer shell of my stock clutch like it says, and it says something about a snap ring and button for pulling out the push rod but there’s no such setup holding my push rod in. It’s stressing me out trying to make sense of this…are there any videos available of the bandit clutch install?

Also, after removing my mainshaft nut, shouldn’t there be a washer behind that nut? Bc mine did not have one and I’m wondering if I should be worried about that??
