Crane hi-4 fireball ignition questions

What settings are people using with this ignition. Im a little confused with reading the instructions. It has a stock with voes and race setting. Without having voes but having a stock engine should i be using stock with voes or race? And for setting the timing one part it says to ground the voes wire(which previous owner has heat shrink on) and then another part says nothing about it. The advance trimpot, i run 91 no ethanol so i had it set full advance but on the race setting. I noticed when checking timing it will miss-fire around 22-2500 rpms with it set full advance so i backed it down. Again i do not have the voes wire grounded. Just looking for a little clarification on these settings.

Looks like this ignition is pretty much obsolete, might be swapping it out over the winter. Still playing with settings but looks like the voes setting is where i need to be.

IIRC, Daytona Twin Tec made the Crane ignition modules. I use them on all carb bikes I do. Their Phone # 386 304-0700.

You ever have one fail? Im having a heck of a time getting it to time. When i get the rpms to where i meed to to set timing my light wont strobe on #1 cylinder consistently and it will sound like its breaking up. If i back the advance down the light will sometimes start to flash again.
