Hi
I am after some info about installing a new ignition barrel into an early style coil cover (pictured below)
I would like to fit one of the Drag Specialties type round key ignition barrels (also pictured below)

Drag Specialties DS-272112
Customchrome 15009
Harley OEM 71428-90A

Without the barrel in front of me I would be just guessing:confused:

I found this thread which shows the same setup in a later style coil cover
http://www.bigdogbiker.com/forums/how/7946-how-wire-plus-hand-control-module-ehc-removal.html

I am in the process of wiring my bike, Any info, Pics or links to guides or details would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

When I upgraded my ignition on the '99 Bulldog, I had to have a custom billet coil cover fabricated to hold the larger coil of the Crane Hi-4 ignition. I put in a new switch that I got from Harley locally. I inquired about the round key switch you have pictured and was told that the small tab has a bad habit of breaking off and the spring loaded switch then spits out your key. So I went with the conventional key type switch. My switch only had 2 posts, one went to the coil and the other went to the ignition module. Sorry
I can't be of more help but I thought you might want to hear about the key tab breaking off and spitting out your key since you are still in the fabrication stage.

Thanks for the info, I have not come across that written anywhere
Hopefully they are making them without the trouble now?
