EHC problems

As Wires Plus is long gone, your only hope to replace, is if someone has and old good one on the shelf. But that only gets you so far down the road. Imo its better to do whats necessary to replace with an available EHC. Sucks to spend $$$ but the security of knowing your bike is solid is priceless.

You may want to give this shop a call . Barnes Performance Cycles is reputable and they are coming out with a new EHC with wiring and lifetime warranty for $600 . Worth checking into!

Not for EFI bikes however. So pretty sure BigDog is his only option.

One of the old ones.
I replaced the EHC on my 2010 Bulldog EFI Bagger with a unit from Dead One Customs (DOC’s EHC). (Deadonecustoms@yahoo.com-(804) 706-9664). In Spring Grove VA. Worked like a charm —but I had the original harness. Fixed all of my problems. Took a day because I shrink wrapped all connections. The contact info is a couple of years old. Guy’s name is Jeff Moore. When installing (I’m a decent wrench but no electrician) I called Jeff a couple of times and he wa great to work with.

The only problem with a DOC replacement is $$$. I bet you paid well over $1200 for the unit…. Basically could buy 2 from BigDog for one of his…. To each his own.

Glad you got it fixed and you are feeling good about it. I have to agree with Mick. The one on my’08 was half that and works great. But hey you got it going and it’s only money. As long as you’re happy that’s all that matters.nothing on these bikes are cheap and parts are getting harder to come by so another option is always good.

Hmmm…I replaced it at least 4 or 5 years ago and paid around $600-650 for it from DOC’s. Axel’s was fairly new and DOC’s was wired for the lo fuel light for the EFI Bulldog…..Just visited DOC’s website and the EHC is indeed advertised at $1200 now, so I would look around too, given the price difference and high praise for Axel’s.

Not sure the cost of other ones, after taxes I paid $791. Ordered from bigdog.net. But it was simple and worked since the orginal EHC finally failed

I'm in the marker for a new a EHC my self , found docs at $1390 . plus any additional addon at 60 day turn around time after ordered and paid for , and big dog RIP 2 harnesses is on back order , said cold be a month or so , those were $750. plus shipping , Curtis @ WSW has not got back to me yet on his availability and price I believe its $595. plus shipping, but wont warranty it unless you up grade charging system , I could be wrong but that's what I read on web sit , my bike is unmolested , wiring never touched until I pull it to trace problem , wiring is excellent condition front and rear harnesses, what would you say is my best option? only 4200 k 2006 mastiff thanks in advance

If your wiring is in great shape I would get the one from WSW it is plug and play. Many of us have it with no problems. I replaced mine with one. I didn't replace the charging system. I replaced the voltage regulator only. I also put a inline fuse feeding it. Now I have a 2004 not sure what years they are saying you should replace the charging system.

i will see when he replace to my email and or text , thanks
I totally agree with Rottweiler. Upgrade the VR & add a inline fuse between the VR & battery. Curtis will hook you up. You can check with Andrew at barnesperformancecycles.com also. I do believe he is manufacturing EHC for ‘05 & up at a reasonable price. Seem to recall around $600
