I tried the search, but realized I didn't know what to search for. I think the 'farther piece' is the cam sensor, but that part is fine. Can anyone tell me what the 'closer object' is, and if it looks like it's backing out from the engine? You can see where it flares out, and that to me seems like it should be flush with the block.






Forgive my dirty ass motor.

That is the wires connecting the stator to the voltage regulator..
Stator is inside the primary..

I think they all look like that. I disconnected mine added some die electric grease to it, cut the ty wrap repositioned the wires and re-connected it.
Then clean yer engine a little....:eek::whoop::lol:

Just so you know that's the crankshaft sensor. :D

Thank you for the responses, and correcting me where I don't know jack.
It just looked weird sticking out a little ways. I didn't want to try jamming it back in and break it, or push anything too far inside.
Doesn't it look like it should be pushed in though, and sit flush against the engine?

I just checked mine, sticks out about the same. Looks like it's right but yours is dirty LOL
