Gas leak

I am still learning about my pitbull and I guess I put to much gas in the tank this morning.I went out to check out the bike at the lunch and I noticed a huge puddle of gas.I looked under the bike and it is coming from the overflow.
I guess the reason I overfilled it was last week I ran out of gas.I guess the reserves don't work on these bikes?

reserve? what reserve? we don't need no stinkin' reserve. :D:D

yea, you should leave a little room at the top for expansion, especially if it is a hot day.

:I had the same problem with my bike, but I noticed it the most when right after filling it up it would come out the drain.I stopped trying to "FILL" it up completely, and started hanging up the pump the 1st time it clicked off. That solved the excess gas puddles.

Have a good one,

Remember if you havr the split tank with left and right fill caps. If you fill the left side and the right side to much with the bike on the stand fuel from the right side of the tank will flow over to the left and can leak. There is a line between the two tanks tha carries fuel from the right tank to the left tank that has the petcock (or vice vs) and also is a balance tube. I have had the same thing happen on duel tank dump trucks that are park sideways on a hill. Fill both tanks and in the morning fuel is runnin out.

Put a puck under the kickstand so it don't lean as much. Mine does it to when I fill it. I put something under the kickstand like a flat rock and it doesn't vent.
