I am looking for the correct handlebar torque for a 2003 Bulldog. I have the torque specs from the HOW TO section, but it is not listed on it. Also could not find it in my service manual. I emailed BDM performance parts and they ( Bob) did not know. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, John Oh, my risers and bars are one piece, with rubber bushings between the risers and the triple tree. Just thought that if you have a different model, but with the same setup, it would be helpful.

2008 Manual states when you reassemble the handlebars to apply loctite 2440 to the 1/2-13 x 2-1/2 bolts and to torque to 65 ft lbs

However, I think your year model may be different. If your bolts are 1/2-13 x 2-1/2 I would torque them to 65 ft lbs.

Thanks Carlos, My bolts are 1/2-13 x 2-1/2. Could you please tell me if your bike has the rubber bushings, I'm not sure if all models have them, if so then 65 ft. lbs would probably be good. Also I tried looking up locktite 2440 and found no such number. Is that the blue stuff ? Appreciate the reply and I see that you are a Marine, Thank You for your service to our country! John

I saw this in my manual as well and was curious as to what 2440 was as well! Please see research below!

Looks like a version of the Medium Strength - So the Blue Stuff. Found a interesting sheet - Go to page 3 http://www.quicktite.loctite.com/us/content_data/LT3722_Maintenance_Solutions.pdf

Yep have the Rubber bushings, so 65 is good. As for the locktite I use Blue on most areas except wheels, clutch assembly, engine sprocket, motor mounts and just about anything I don't want to fly off while I am riding. :D Remember if you use Red locktite it is going to be hard to remove, but you can always apply a little heat from a heat Gun it will come off once the red stuff heat up. :2thumbs:

You are welcome, I may not be as lean and mean and I used to be but I am still a MARINE uuurrraaa
