thank you for the help and advice in advance, here is the issue, the bike is an 08 Ridgeback and at first i thought it had just sat for to long in the cold garage, but after getting a battery tether and getting the battery fully charged, i got stranded after it would not start again, when i can get the bike running the only registers 12.05 volts (while running) i am not the most mechanically inclined but i am assuming that it is not charging? would this be a warranty issue? or am I going to get hit over the head at the shop?

Charging Issue
If the breaker checks out OK, checking the rest of the charging system is straightforward if you have a volt meter. I had the same problem you describe.
The voltage is supplied by the bike's stator and is output at a two wire plug by the oil filter. Remove the plug and connect a voltmeter - you should get good ac voltage - 20 volts perhaps at idle and you will see the voltage increase if you gun the throttle. If this happens your stator is OK. If not check to make sure the regulator is grounded by ensuring the bolts are tight. If your breaker is OK and the stator is putting out decent AC voltage, the problem is mostl likely the regulator. Thats what it was on my K-9. It was a hundred buck part and about a 6 beer job. Turned out real nice.

You have to be careful when checking the charging voltage, if it has a bad battery it could suck the current from the alternator and show low voltage.
You should see above 13 volts with a charged battery. You can't load test a week battery, it will always show bad.
If it never dies while riding it is probably the battery...
