my bike is a 2005 ridgeback.

first my low beam went out. took to dealer purchased harley replacement bulb it worked for about 400 miles(i normally just use low beam) while i was there they saw my plug had melted a little so they installed new one as well.
3 weeks ago the high beam goes out, so this time i get a PIAA extreme bulb that they say is vibration proof. last night heading home from bike night i click my high beam on and nothing.

any ideas ??? could it be the switch on the handle bars or a short?

The bulb probably cooked again. PIAA bulbs are no more vibration proof than the others, they just have a warranty through the manufacturer.

Pull it out, check it, and go from there.

I'm on my 5th headlight. One of them didn't even last on the ride home from the dealer. They couldn't figure out what was wrong, so they put in a new EHC about 2 weeks ago. Since then, I haven't had any problems.

12 volt headlight output from ehc is bad. hook up headlight to tag light wire and you'll be good to go.....at least that's what worked for me. you will only have low or high beam thou.

Also experiencing headlight problem in Ohio. Is it the smokin hot temps we're havin or what. Mine is stuck on high beam only, hit switch and it wont go to low beam. Does that mean my low beam is burned out or is it a switch problem?

When the low beam blows out it will default to the high beam. Just replace the bulb but while in there check the wiring and ensure there are no grounds or melted wires.
