K&N OILED or NOT

Hey I have a D&M spike air cleaner with a K&N filter in it. I recently washed it clean and dried it out real well then applied that red spray on K&N air filter oil to the element. Should I have put the oil on that type of filter? Seems like ever since I did that I have a few more hiccups in the deceleration.

For sure you need the oil on the K&N type filter. Those spikes can be a bit more restrictive on air flow as it is. Maybe once your fresh oil job dries out a little it will clear up.

Always oil the K&N filter after cleaning it and letting it dry. I have the D&M air filter also, but never noticed anything different after cleaning
