K9 2006 Run Button Problem

Hi All
I have had my bike stored for 3 months, turned the key on, pressed the run button, then went to start it and nothing.
Battery was charged and after checking the wiring, I discovered if I press the run button 20 odd times the bike will turn over then start.
I haven't pulled the control apart yet to inspect the switch. Thought I would ask first if anyone else has experienced problems like this?

sometimes thay are prone for failure,, I'd remove to check for lose connection..or corosion.. also check for lose connections on battery,& starter.. then do a intro.....

Welcome Lostbreed, we have several other members here from you area.

Depending on how early your model was made you may have the oldstyle switches. They were updated sometime in 06 or so. I would replace both circuit cards just to be on the safe side.

:iagree: What Ray said, most likely it is your PCB boards, find a good dealer and start with replacing both sides.:up:
You may also want to remove your fuel tank and make sure all your wire connections are Dielectric greased. Not a bad idea to unhook your battery, remove the EHC harness from the EHC and make sure the rubber seal is not down inside. If there is, remove it and throw it in the trash. then Dielectric grease the hell out of both connectors and the EHC itself. Just be careful to not torque the small bolts too much, they will strip out on you.
Hook the battery back up making sure you tighten the bolts nice and snug.

Thanks for the advice

I pulled the PCB board out of the RH side and it looks dodgy so I'm gonna try and get them to send me one. The only let down with owning a BD in New Zealand is getting bits.
