I have a o5 bulldog and Everysince i got it i have had cranking issues. I take it on a ride and it wont crank up after I shut it down. All I get is a clicking noise and thats sometimes. I took it to the shop and they said it was just the battery. I had it replace then I took it home. cranked it up went out for a ride on the town. When I got home i tried to crank it again and it wouldnt. It seems as if it doesnt have a enough energy to turn the damn bike over. Now it wont even give me the clicking noise when I try to crank it. the lights just totally go out.

Was the new battery charged for 24 hours or fully charged prior to the install?
Is this scoot kept on a tender when not being ridden?
This topic has beed discussed MANY MANY times.

Are your compression releases working? Have you checked your charging system? Do you have a good ground? Have you pulled your starter and checked it for the dreaded oil leak?

Well i went out and bought a tender. and i been keeping it on there. i went and cranked it up and it had no probelm in starting right up. but im still to take it for a long ride, twowheel99 im new to the mechanics of curisers. Im use to working on cars. so them me a charging system would be a alternator. hell i dont have the first clue of what it might even look like. But I believe the charging system is the issue, unless it is not shutting off all the way amd running the battery dead.

If you have a voltmeter you can check the charging system at the battery, just connect the leads, start the bike and bring the RPM's up to around 2K. Check your reading and let us know what you find. Your bike should either have a circuit breaker or if the recall was done it might have a end line fuse (40amp) protecting your charging & EHC system. You may have to reset your breaker or you may have a blown fuse, check those first and see if it begins charging again.....

I had the same exact issue, it was the voltage regulator, replaced it and haven't has a problem since. Keep it on the tender also.

you will find there will be lots of opinions from people on this website to tell you to do this and to do that,1/2 of which are only repeating information they have read on the forum from others past problems....your best bet is first to do a search on that particular subject and read all the info you can, luckily you are mechanically inclined(or hopefully so after working on other peoples cars:lol:)and will understand the knowledge presented to you ,but your best bet is to buy a manual which will help you immensely during your time in need of repairs..............
