need help

I have an 04 Big Dog chopper, there is a high pitch chattering coming from the primary in neutral or in gear. the clutch still pulls strong though! any help is needed. im trying to start working on my bike but i am alot better at tearing things up than fixing them, if doesnt go boom or bang im lost.:flag:

Your description (noise) doesn't sound good ... you need to open up that primary and take a looksy .... how the trans oil ??

If you're positive the noise is coming from the primary, I would pull it like 55 said and see if there is anything visually obvious. It's just a couple quarts of ATF or whatever you're using......that's another thread all together. Could be your chain tensioner, could be something trying to loosen up like your clutch nut.

Have you taken the primary cover off? The front nut likes to fall off Yes fall the FUCK OFF. But before it falls off it makes a heck of a racket grinding on your primary cover. Lock Tight that nut and I have heard people drilling a hole in the shaft and putting a key ring in it. (Over Kill)
Mines got lock tight and over 30K on mine now. Just my 2cents
