dropped bowl today & checked intermidiate & main jets. My 05 ridgeback is running .028/.068 jets . I would like to know what the hell's with that. Now I see why there's so much poping going on. I'm running supper trapp/meanmothers no baffles/ but home made torque cones/tail pipe reducers 2" to 1.5" at the end of tail pipes. K&N filter Jake's screen instead of plate on stock air cleaner . I live in central Pa. Any advice would be appriciated.

I'd start with a 30-31 & 76-78 & go from there.. you may have to work with it some...

31 & 78 is where I'd start, and if you haven't remove the intake restrictors do so.

just do one at a time or you won't know what worked and don't forget about the air bleed i think all s&s carbs after 04 have ajustable a/b. or you can tap & drill. the a/b will really help take out the flat spots between 2500/3500 rpm......... peace

Do you still have the restrictor plates in it?

Guys he still has the E carb. Would you still go to the 31 / 76 Combo. When we say drill out the Air Bleed what does that mean exactly?

Early models (BDM) didn't come with carbs that had "air bleeds". My 03 didn't till I had it modified by Zippers. And my 05 didn't till I had it modified by Triple X. An air bleed you access from dropping the float bowl determines when the main jet comes on and that's all. Carb comes stock with a .040 air bleed whether it's the adjustable (just a jet) or a bored hole in the carb.
Larger air bleed delays the timing of the main jet so it comes on later. This is needed when some of these guys install a 33 or 36 intermediate as all they are doing is flooding the motor in the 2000-3000 rpm range when the transition occures. :D

So Earl should go ahead with the 31/76 like I have on my G for his E? Forget the Air Bleed if it even applys for now? Just trying to help the man out

Hard to tell cause there are too many variables. Exhaust, intake/filter, atmosephere and such.

As I posted I'm running at 29.5/72 combo for the last few years.

His current jets are the stock jets. So first he should check to see if the restrictor plates are still in it. If so remove them. Then he can increase the jetting. If I remember right if you would have bought the mean mothers back in 05 they would have come with a 29.5/70 or 72. Can 't remember that far back now. But he shouldn't be playing with anything larger for now.

:D
