Oil change

stlmikie

I wish I had more money.
I started to change the oil. When I took out the oil plug hardly anything came out. I tried to stick a little screwdriver up into the hole to see if there was an obstruction and there is something big blocking the hole. I have no idea what it is. the oil bag is full and the oil came out od where the filter is. I am in a bind. Any help would be great.

Dude, did you remove the plug for the oil tank or the motor? The oil tank on my 03 had a rubber hose mounted to the frame that you removed a plug from and it drained the tank. This would be on the right side of the frame under the tranny.

Yeah. So I am slightly retarded. Ray you got it. I took the plug out of the bottom of the motor. I got it all down now.

I thought about that but you should be able to see that it's a plug. By the description Mike gave, it seemed no oil came out AFTER he removed the plug.

oh well, glad you figured it out.

Yeah I took the one out under the front of the motor. Not the one on the end of the hose.:bang: I got it all squared away though. I have a fried now that works at the dealer here in the STL. Hell of a guy. I've been calling him when I have questions the whole way with this bike. I finally had the guts to just ask him over and help. He didn't hesitate. I know that is kind of taboo for the shop help to help out of the shop. Guy is brilliant. Had me up and running in no time.
