I have a oil when my bike is parked on the kick stand. I have taken the primary inner and outer of once before to repair this leak. I replaced all the orings and gaskets. The leak appeared to come from the shifter seal. I have it apart right now and I am going to replace the seal for the shifter and input. but between these 2 seals is a rubber cover about 2 inch around that is punctured. It does not appear to be replaceable. What is it and could that be my oil leak?

That black in color cover you are referring to is actually a seal for the countershaft. There is a bolt under that with a tapered style washer that needs to be replaced with an updated one. Call a local BDM dealer, have them run the VIN number and see what has and has not been done for recalls. That seal is replaceable and that is the cause of your oil leak. Take a seal puller or flat blade screw driver and pop the seal out. You then will see the Allen style bolt I am talking about. A 7/32" allen socket will remove the bolt and washer.

Did you put the transmission in gear and make sure the rear tire is not able to turn? Otherwise the transmission gear set will just turn in neutral.
